Screw-Type Dots
There have been a lot of requests to make these available for purchase, and now they are ready. No more using tape to hide your Red Dot 🔴.
You can now replace your original Leica Dot with these brass screw-type dot replacements. Available for the Leica M, Q, and SL series cameras.
Details
Just like the AGS baseplates, these dots are CNC machined right here from brass. They are available in two sizes:
10mm diameter for most Leica M cameras and Leica Q cameras
12mm diameter for the Leica SL cameras and Leica M240 cameras
All dots come with adhesive pre-applied to the back & spare double-sided adhesive (just in case).
Black and Silver dots are ready to ship now in both 10mm and 12mm.

There are many Leica cameras, versions, and variations that either the 10mm or 12mm dots will fit or likely fit (like the TL, X, & D Lux). But I'm not a historian. The easiest way to see if one of them will fit your camera is to measure your current red dot.
Some Backstory
You can thank a few people and a random series of events for these dots.

Like a lot of Leica owners I tend to prefer the more subtle branding of the Leica P and Monochrom cameras. So one of the first things I did after getting my M11 back in 2022 was to make a set of these replacement dots for myself.
Around December of 2023, I saw photographer Benj Haisch post a video and some content after purchasing his M11 and saw he was already using a piece of black tape to cover the dot on his camera. Just as a fan of his work and YouTube channel and a fellow Pacific North Westerner, I sent a couple of spare dots his way with a little note:
"Hey! Congrats on the M11! I saw your story about red dot or no dot. I made some blackened brass replacement dots for my black M11. Here are a couple for you. One in matte black and one in aged brass. It will be a little nicer than a piece of tape.
Between weddings and YouTube your gear gets seen more than most people. So seemed fitting that it would have a little better finishing.
Congrats again on the new M11. I know I've really loved mine."

And that was that, at least until the middle of this year…
Cam Mackey posted a story to his Instagram where he excitedly took a pocket knife to the red dot on his M11 and, as a complete surprise to me, replaced it with one of the aged brass dots I had made! It turns out Benj had passed on the spare dot to Cam, and Cam's video caused quite a stir. Between the two of them, there's been a large amount of interest and requests for the dots.
And thanks to an extra nudge from Benj, now they're finally available.
So now you know.
